McLaren has revealed its Geneva motor show-bound Senna hypercar, customised by its McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division.

The show car features bare carbonfibre bodywork, with flashes of yellow and green across the exterior and interior paying tribute to the car’s namesake, Ayrton Senna. Senna’s racing helmet was finished in yellow, green and black. No performance upgrades are applied over the 789bhp, 590lb ft hypercar by the brand's bespoke arm

The ‘Carbon Theme’ as the pack is called, is one of five available from MSO for the Senna, and also adds 7-spoke carbon fibre and aluminium wheels, which weigh 10% less than the standard wheels, are now available across all Sennas. The wheels also have separately-coloured wheel nuts for left and right wheels. McLaren remains tight-lipped on the other four themes.

The MSO personalisation adds around £300,000 to the price of the Senna, bringing the car’s total price to £1,050,000. The MSO work takes 250 man-hours for the yellow detailing on the sills, wing and front bodywork alone. The brake calipers are finished in green.

On the inside, the car is all black with black Alcantara upholstery for the seats, but the colour flourishes continue, with the seat stitching, speakers and steering wheel centre strip finished in yellow, while the door gas strut matches the brake calipers in Laurel Green.

Almost every Senna customer has opted for some form of MSO customisation, McLaren revealed. MSO boss Ansar Ali said: “With the car having generated so much interest since its unveiling in December, we knew we needed to produce something very special in order to showcase the unique talents of McLaren Special Operations. I would not be at all surprised to see a rise in expressions of interest for MSO Visual Carbon Fibre cars similar to this one.”
