Welcome to our 2019 Continental Black Chili Driving Experience live blog. We’re heading to the south of France, accompanied by 24 Autocar readers who have won the chance to take the road trip of a lifetime.
Over the next three days, they’ll tackle some of Europe’s most beautiful and challenging roads in 12 amazing performance cars – all in a quest to learn about Continental’s range of ultra-high-performance tyres, and its ultra-grippy Black Chili compound.

Our journey across the south of France starts on Monday morning, with a route that takes in the iconic Route Napoleon, the stunning Gorges du Verdon, the twisty clifftop roads of the Col de Vaumale and the beautiful Corniche d’Or coastal road.
Our Autocar readers will be at the wheel of some amazing cars – the Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG, the Audi RS3, the Jaguar I-PACE, the Ford Mustang GT, the Porsche Boxster and the BMW M240i. And, on the way, we’ll be learning a lot about what makes Continental’s ultra-high-performance tyres tick.
