This is a weird one. It's another "shady dealer" story, but unlike the alleged scam we covered yesterday, this one is just plain gross.
Apparently, an employee of a used-car dealership in Kenosha, Wisconsin urinated on a driver's license that a customer accidentally left behind after taking a test drive.
Here's the story, according to local TV station WISN. A Waukesha woman wrote on her Facebook page that she stopped by NH Auto Sales to take a test drive on Saturday. She forgot to take her driver's license back home with her. Someone alerted her to a Snapchat video that appears to show an employee of NH bending her license before putting it on a bumper and urinating on it for at least 14 seconds.
The video has, of course, gone viral.
What makes this story even weirder is that apparently, NH changed its name to something similar to a competing store in nearby Racine -- Budget Motors -- and Budget ended up getting a bunch of bad reviews online before things were cleared up. Now Budget wants to give the woman a free car.
WISN tried to visit NH on Monday but found the store to be dark -- even though it is supposed to be open on Mondays.
The cops are aware of what's going on.
From WISN:
"KPD is aware of a disgusting act of disrespect towards a person's property, a video of which is being widely shared on social media," Kenosha Police said in a statement on Sunday. "We have been in contact with the victim and are working with that person on the investigation."
As for us, we're puzzled. Why would an employee find it necessary to urinate on a random customer's license? Was it his ex-girlfriend or something?
There's probably too much happening for the cops to make this their number one priority, but since social media seems to be awash with the video, hopefully, they won't flush their opportunity to catch the perp down the drain.
OK, now that we have the puns out of our system, let's be serious for a second -- why do car dealership employees continue to act so badly? Especially now, in an era where doing something this mean and gross can be captured on video?
As bad as we feel for the victim, at least she's not holding the bag on a $20K loan for a car that's not in her driveway.
