MobED, short for Mobile Eccentric Droid, is an autonomous mobility platform developed by Hyundai Motor Group. Designed as a low, flat robotic “skateboard,” MobED serves as a universal base for delivery robots, logistics platforms, research equipment, and service applications.
Each of MobED’s four wheels is independently actuated and features Hyundai’s Drive-and-Lift technology, allowing the platform to raise, lower, and tilt at each corner. This eccentric posture control keeps payloads level while driving over curbs, slopes, and uneven terrain. MobED uses AI-based autonomous navigation with LiDAR-camera sensor fusion for mapping, obstacle avoidance, and route planning.
A large touchscreen with a 3D interface lets users set destinations easily, reflecting Hyundai’s goal of “autonomy anyone can use.” Two versions are planned: MobED Basic for developers and custom integrations, and MobED Pro with a full autonomy suite and follow-me capabilities. Mass production is targeted for early 2026.
